Job Description

Job Summary:

The Steel Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding metal components to create structural steel frameworks, supports, and assemblies. The role requires precision, technical skill, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to produce high-quality fabricated products.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical sketches. Measure, mark, cut, bend, and assemble steel components using hand tools, machines, and welding equipment. Fabricate steel structures such as beams, frames, staircases, handrails, and supports. Operate tools and machines such as grinders, shears, cutting torches, and bending machines. Perform welding (MIG, TIG, or Arc) and ensure welds meet quality standards. Check dimensions and alignment of assembled parts using measuring tools. Conduct finishing tasks like grinding, cleaning, and polishing welds. Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized work environment. Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality inspectors to meet project deadlines. Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.

Qualifications and Requirements:

ITI / Diploma in Fabrication, Welding, or related field. Minimum 2-5 years of experience in structural or steel fabrication. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately. Skilled in cutting, welding, grinding, and fitting operations. Basic understanding of English (reading and speaking). Good physical strength and ability to work in workshop or site conditions. Knowledge of safety standards and PPE usage.
