Summary: Civil / Structural / Architectural Designer with Diploma / ITI Draftsmanship (in Civil / Mechanical engineering) and more than 15 years of relevant experience in a steel detailing office of repute.Should have exposure to design office practices using computer aided drafting and 3D modeling tools.Should have experience of preparing, checking and leading steel detailing work using TEKLA software. Essential Job Duties: 1.Knowledge of Detail Engineering & Deliverables and understanding of the complete detailing work process including all the tools proposed to be used. 2.Propagation and model management of Tekla models into SP3D for interface of Structural Steel to other disciplines using customized tools developed by Bechtel office including final clash check. 3.Delivering the complete fabrication package as per Project schedule. 4. Conforming Bechtel Standard procedures to Project Requirements, Quality and ensuring their implementation. 5. Checking of Tekla 3D models andsteel fabrication drawings prepared in Tekla/AutoCAD, and in determining drafting expression and arrangement of components. 6. Provides technical guidance to connection design engineers and drafting personnel in developing connections and preparation of drawings. 7. Checking of basic layout drawings for civil/structural data or other purposes to be used in working drawings. 8.Assists in computer-related activities, such as preparing input data and using computer programs for computerized solution of technical problems including the use of CAD Systems for drawing preparation. 9.Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, or constructability. 10.Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as required. 11.Review of contractors' shop drawings, product data, material samples, etc. 12.Checks work of subordinate designers and detailers. 13.Ensures Engineering Quality Job Knowledge: 1.Knowledge of drafting, engineering techniques and calculations, familiarity with applications of computers to engineering problems. 2. Specialized courses in a technical field, working in Steel fabrication shop/yard or Practical work experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. 3.Experience of Tekla setup for drawing extraction. 4.Should be able to respond to fabricators queries and manage tracking list. 5. Understanding of Engineering Department Procedures, relevant Bechtel design guides. Broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials and Codes including of OSHA. 6.Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods. Qualification: 1.Diploma /ITI Draftsman (in Civil) and 15+ years of experience in leading, preparing and checking of Steel Detailing work in office of repute. 2. Should have exposure to design office practices using computer aided drafting and 3D modeling tools.Proficiency in use of 3D Structural Modeling software like Tekla, SP3D, Micro-station, SPR, AutoCAD 3.Good skills in oral and written communication. Experience: Grade 25: 15+ years of relevant work experience
