Key Responsibilities
Perform
steel casting welding
as per industry and safety standards.
Conduct
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
for surface and near-surface defect detection.
Perform
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
and
Radiographic Testing (RT)
for internal defect identification.
Carry out thorough
Visual Welding Inspection
before, during, and after welding.
Interpret NDT reports and provide corrective recommendations.
Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper calibration of testing tools.
Follow welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Prepare documentation, inspection reports, and maintain quality records.
Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and engineering teams.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum
5 years of experience
in steel casting welding and NDT inspection.
Strong knowledge in
MPI, UT, RT, and Visual Inspection
methods.
Certification in
NDT Level II
(MPI/UT/RT) is an added advantage.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
Experience working with heavy steel castings.
Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma / ITI in Welding, Mechanical, Metallurgy or related field.
Experience in foundry or casting industry.
