The Audit Quality Check Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality, consistency, and compliance of statutory audit engagements in line with ISQM 1, ISQM 2, IFRS, and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). The role involves reviewing audit working papers, monitoring audit quality indicators, implementing the firm's System of Quality Management, and supporting engagement teams in delivering high-quality audits.
Key Responsibilities1. Audit Quality Reviews
Perform detailed
cold and hot reviews
of statutory audit files to ensure compliance with ISA, IFRS, and firm policies.
Identify deficiencies, gaps, and improvement areas in audit documentation and procedures.
Provide corrective action recommendations and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
2. ISQM 1 & ISQM 2 Implementation
Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of the firm's
System of Quality Management (SQM)
under
ISQM 1
.
Assist the Engagement Quality Reviewers (EQRs) as required under
ISQM 2
, ensuring appropriate EQR processes are followed.
Conduct annual evaluations of quality objectives, risks, and responses as part of the firm's ISQM cycle.
3. Technical Compliance & Standards
Provide technical guidance on the application of
IFRS
,
Companies Act requirements
, audit methodology, and ISA-based audit procedures.
Keep audit teams updated on changes in auditing and accounting standards through internal trainings and technical updates.
4. Internal Monitoring & Risk Management
Oversee the firm's internal monitoring program, including root-cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
Support development and refinement of quality policies, templates, and audit tools.
Monitor key audit quality indicators (AQIs) and prepare periodic quality reports for leadership.
5. Training & Capability Building
Conduct periodic training workshops on audit methodology, IFRS updates, ISQM compliance, and best documentation practices.
Mentor and coach audit staff on technical and quality-related matters.
6. Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with audit partners, managers, and engagement teams to strengthen audit quality culture.
Coordinate with internal and external inspectors during regulatory or peer review inspections.

Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of

Professional Qualifications
CA (Chartered Accountant)

6-7 years of experience in statutory audit and quality review roles in mid-sized or large CA firms.
