Responsibilities

Static Equipment:

Design and engineering of: Pressure Vessels (as per ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1/2), HeatExchangers (TEMA standards), Storage Tanks (API 650/620), Columns, Drums, Reactors

Prepare mechanical datasheets, specifications, and design calculations.

Perform nozzle load analysis, wind/seismic design checks, and support details.

Review and approve vendor drawings and fabrication documents.

Support fabrication, inspection (hydro, NDT), and erection at site.

Rotating / Dynamic Equipment:

Engineering and selection of: Agitators and mixers (paddle, turbine, anchor types),Mechanical seals, gearboxes, couplings, Pumps (basic selection and coordination withpump vendor)

Perform basic mechanical design and selection of: Shaft size & material, Bearing type,Motor coupling and alignment calculations

Knowledge of standard interfaces for mounting (flanges, stuffing boxes, seal plans).

Work with instrumentation for torque/speed control and feedback from VFDs.

General:

Participate in project review meetings, vendor discussions, and internal coordination.

Ensure all designs comply with client specifications, standards, and QHSE requirements.

Collaborate with process, piping, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams.

Provide site support for installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Perform TBA (technical bid analysis) and assist in vendor finalization.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 5-7 years in engineering of static and rotating equipment

Hands-on with design codes: Static - ASME Sec VIII, TEMA, API 650, IS 2825; Rotating - API610 (pumps), API 613/682 (seals), DIN/ISO standards

Proficiency in software/tools: PV Elite / COMPRESS / AMETank, AutoCAD / SolidWorks /Inventor, Excel-based shaft/impeller calculations

Knowledge of: Shaft sizing, impeller design, torque and bending checks, Selection ofmaterials for wetted/non-wetted parts, Mechanical seal selection (single/double), stuffingbox, and seal support systems

Good communication and report-writing skills.
