Ashray Akruti is a registered nonprofit, non-religious, non-government organization working for people with disability with a focus on children with hearing loss. Established in Hyderabad in the year 1996, the organization implements projects across health, education and skill development to improve the lives of people with Disability or 'Divyangjan', as named by the Government of India.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Research and Identification:
Conduct extensive online research to identify Special Schools in state capital cities and across tier 1, 2, 3, and 4 towns.
Maintain a database of identified Special Schools in each state, ensuring its accuracy and relevance.
Outreach and Relationship Management:
Schedule and coordinate appointments with Special Schools for meetings and program demonstrations.
Build and maintain strong, meaningful relationships with Special Schools to ensure their active participation and retention in organizational programs.
Follow up with Special School contacts to provide program demonstrations and ensure smooth coordination of these activities.
Training Coordination:
Organize and oversee Indian Sign Language (ISL) training sessions--both online and offline--for teaching, non-teaching, or other project-related staff of Special Schools as per the defined syllabus.
Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops in ISL for Special Schools in Karnataka.
Program Implementation and Monitoring:
Visit Special Schools in every district to engage with key stakeholders and monitor program implementation.
Coordinate closely with the E-Learning Manager to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed reports of visits, training sessions, and follow-ups to share progress with the management team.
Travel:
Be willing and enthusiastic to travel extensively across districts, meeting and collaborating with Special Schools to fulfill organizational objectives.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, MBA or a related field.
1 to 3 years of experience in the social development sector and at least two years of experience in working with schools.
Strong online research and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Experience or interest in working with Special Schools or programs for the hearing-impaired community.
Passion for travel and fieldwork to create meaningful impact.
Karnataka language proficiency is a must.
