Responsibilities
Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee daily transportation operations, including scheduling, routing, and tracking of Routes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
Manage and lead a team of transportation professionals, providing guidance and support.
Coordinate with the team to ensure timely and accurate transport services.
Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Negotiate contracts with transportation providers and manage relationships with vendors.
Develop and maintain transportation budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
Implement and oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to streamline operations.
Resolve transportation-related issues and disputes in a timely and effective manner.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve transportation processes.
Develop and implement training programs for transportation staff.
Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of transportation equipment and vehicles.
Prepare and present transportation reports to senior management.
Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to optimize overall operations.
Manage transportation-related risks and develop contingency plans.
Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of service and delivery.
Implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of transportation operations.
Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the transportation team.
ERP knowledge
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in industry of transportation management
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience in budget management and cost control.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
