This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer (L4) in India.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and scale backend services that power a high-performance customer data platform. You will work on building reliable, low-latency APIs and data pipelines that process billions of events per hour, enabling clients to orchestrate and activate data efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex engineering problems, and has experience with distributed systems and cloud-based architectures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to strategic roadmaps. This position is remote-based with occasional collaboration across Indian and international teams, providing exposure to cutting-edge technology and large-scale data systems.
Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support high-throughput data platforms.
• Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and event-driven architectures for processing large volumes of data.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and operational excellence of backend systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes, promoting engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and ensure reliability of cloud-based services.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical roadmaps to align with strategic initiatives.
• Mentor and support team members in software engineering principles and cloud technologies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience writing production-grade backend code in modern programming languages such as Golang, Python, Java, Scala, or similar.
• Strong fundamentals in building fault-tolerant distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and database design.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and deploying backend services in production.
• Proficiency in designing high-scale, low-latency APIs and data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and system debugging.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and making technical decisions in rapidly evolving environments.
• Desired: experience with event streaming platforms (Kafka, Pulsar), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), multi-tenant SaaS systems, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
