Job Overview





We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Software Engineer to join our Platform and Development Acceleration (PDX) organization. This role will focus on building our next-generation AI-native development platform named Modern SaaS AIR. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in open-source technologies, specifically real-time data processing, and AI analytics using Rust, Golang, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), and AWS. Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end capability development for an open-source real-time data processing and AI analytics product. Serve as a technical leader and domain expert, influencing technology and product direction. Drive and collaborate on design and architecture, ensuring effective planning and high-quality execution through all project phases. Develop and maintain scalable and efficient code, adhering to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and adjacent teams to ideate and solve complex problems together. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging exploration of new ideas and technologies. Mentor and assess engineers, fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented team environment. Stay current with developments in the Kubernetes ecosystem and explore new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve the platform's functionality and performance Ensure operational excellence, designing for low MTTD/MTTR, HADR & fast recovery/self healing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field 8+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with minimal guidance. Proficient in Rust, Golang, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), and AWS. Expertise in Kubernetes (specifically Amazon EKS) - Operator pattern, Kubernetes clients, Kubernetes controllers, shared informers, cache etc Expertise in real-time data processing technologies Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and logging tools and techniques Proven track record of leading large-scale projects and driving technical decisions. Strong understanding of design patterns, API design, data modeling, and operational planning. Experience with performance, load, and failure mode testing and resolution. Demonstrated ability to handle incident management and operational escalations. A commitment to writing high-quality code and improving existing codebases. Excellent communication and collaborative skills. Passion for delivering solutions that delight customers and meeting high standards in service reliability and efficiency.
