As a Staff Software Engineer in the Risk and Identity Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in providing hands-on technological leadership. RaIS is a value-added function integrated with both Issuers and Acceptance solutions, offering solutions for Authorization, Authentication, Identity, Transaction Risk control, Fraud Management, and more. Your responsibilities will include guiding, mentoring a world-class team of engineers, executing, delivering both functional, non-functional features, promoting a culture of cross-functional collaboration and excellence in engineering.

Essential Functions

• Managing the overall development life cycle of the solution and oversee complex projects with significant bottom-line impact
• Guiding a scrum team of 6-7 members comprised of both full-time employees and contractors
• Delivering the product despite complex technical interdependencies with cross-geographical teams
• Providing technical leadership to the development team by participating in design, performing design reviews, and code reviews
• Building a culture of engineering excellence, emphasizing quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, and resilience
• Establish Secure Software Development as topmost priority.
• Partnering with product owners to develop a strategy and roadmap that align with business goals
• Collaborating with remote teams to ensure alignment across product development
• Driving down technical debt and cost of operations/support
• Managing the prioritization and delivery of enhancements and bug fixes on the platform
• Ensuring the adherence to incident management, change management, and problem management processes
• Participating in the hiring process to ensure high technology skills within the team
• Investing in the career development of team members.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor\'s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Minimum 6 years of hands on experience in application software development.
• Proficiency in system design with at least 3 years of experience designing large-scale systems.
• Hands on development experience in Java 8+ and Java based framework (Spring, Spring Boot)
• Comprehensive understanding of how UI and UI components work. Knowledge of UI languages is required. Hands-on coding experience on UI frameworks is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to break down product requirements into technical features and provide accurate estimates for the same.
• Proven experience working with multiple cross-functional and cross-geographic teams.
• Openness to learning new technologies, carrying out and delivering POCs (Proofs of Concept) as required. The ability to rapidly learn and adopt new technologies is expected.
• Fundamental understanding of how authentication and authorization systems work.
• Demonstrated excellence in mentoring and tech leadership, with the ability to guide others in the team.
