Summary In this role you will be responsible for designing and programming a small module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. You will work independently and contribute to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also be responsible to lead design discussion and mentor other junior team members. Roles and Responsibilities In this role, you will: Capture system level requirements by brainstorming with Architects & Sr. Architects, Program/Project Managers, Product Managers/Owners, Stakeholders Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimates and justify the estimate with facts Lead in technical discussions Lead in technical designs and present technical ideas through whiteboarding Drive design reviews, define interfaces between code modules, and applies existing technology to designs Maintain and drive code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation Be an expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers the desired functionality using the technology selected for the project Help in designing interfaces and information exchange between modules Be an expert in assessing NFRs (performance, load, scalability etc.) for the application and optimizing/improving it through design and best coding practices Develop expertise and own individual module design while also understanding the overall product Seek and provide feedback on design and development Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment Possess advanced domain knowledge and show great customer focus. Expert in processes / methodologies and Skilled in build, release & deployment processes Articulate the need for scalability and understand the importance of improving quality through testing. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university or college Overall 9+ Years of strong experience in software development in Enterprise Application Development Essentials Skills: Good knowledge of AWS Cloud Design and Development (AWS certification is a plus) Good knowledge of Microservices design and development, and deployment in Kubernetes Experience in Java, Spring boot, Rest APIs, Hibernate Experience in DB Design (RDBMS or NoSQL) Good knowledge of UI Design and Development, with knowledge of Open Source Javascript libraries (Angular, React, Vue etc.) Excellent knowledge of debugging tools to address performance and reliability bottlenecks Good knowledge in unit testing using JUnit and mock frameworks. Experience in Agile development practices: Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour Driven Development (BDD). Desired Characteristics: Good problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments Cloud Performance and Reliability design and development is a plus Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions Inclusion and Diversity GE Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
