Zscaler seeks an experienced and agile Staff QA Automation Engineer with unique skills. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the software development lifecycle and will be responsible for improving overall quality assurance outcomes by applying problem-solving skills, QA best practices, and various tools. The fast-paced environment requires taking the initiative and managing ambiguity to drive effective results. This role may interface with customers, subject matter experts, technical experts, developers, and other QC engineers globally and in different time zones.

The Staff QC Automation Engineer will report to the Senior QC Manager of Software Engineering. The Software Engineer will have end-to-end ownership of features starting from testing, automation (if applicable), deployment, and helping with monitoring of the feature(s).

About the Team

The Isolation Platform is a small distributed team that works fast and lives on the cutting edge of software engineering in the backend, front, and infrastructure. We like open-source, but we are fearless in building stuff ourselves where it makes sense, and we can optimize something. Our philosophy is: that done is better than perfect, and we strive to work iteratively and optimize our processes to achieve reliable and fast product deliverables that delight our customers.

The fast-paced environment requires taking the initiative and managing ambiguity to drive effective results. This role may interface with customers, subject matter experts, technical experts, developers, and other QC engineers globally and in different time zones.

Responsibilities:

- Review product specifications and write the test case, develop test plans for assigned areas in the Engineering team for Cloud Browser Isolation

- Ability to design test plans with clear separation of functional, integration, regression, and exploratory tests to ensure application quality.

- Build and Automate test cases - Collaborate on the design and architecture of the automation framework.

- Engage in test case execution, including defect documentation and tracking, resolution support, and fix verification.

- Assist in the development and delivery of training to cross-functional teams

- Follow an iterative software development methodology and contribute to all software development lifecycle and support phases.

- Recreate complex customer and production-reported issues to determine root causes and verify the fixes.

- Work closely with the Engineering team to design a test strategy for their tools and components

- Lead Technically the team, from the functional testing point of view and the automation testing point of view, with the support of the Senior Quality Manager

Qualifications

7+ years of experience testing software for cloud-based products

- Have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and solutions.

- Hands-on experience programming in Java with Selenium

- Hands-on experience doing automation tests for APIs

- Experienced building and contributing to an automation framework development & test automation.

- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.

- Must be very hands-on, passionate about quality, and willing to collaborate with multiple teams for system testing

- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.

- Have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and solutions.

- Hands-on experience with Image recognition test tools is pleasant to have plus

- Experience with AWS is a plus

- Experience with Python, Go, or any programming language is a plus

- Hands-on experience in mobile automation is a big plus

- Hands-on experience in building a framework for mobile automation behind proxies is a big plus

- Docker and Kubernetes are a big plus
