Job Description

The Staff Nurse Incharge is responsible for supervising nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care in the assigned ward or department. The role includes managing daily nursing operations, maintaining clinical standards, ensuring adherence to hospital protocols, and coordinating between medical staff and nurses for effective healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:1. Patient Care Management

Ensure all patients receive quality nursing care in accordance with established clinical standards. Monitor patient conditions and coordinate with doctors for timely treatment and interventions. Supervise medication administration and ensure accurate documentation. Oversee infection control practices and patient safety measures. Handle emergencies and critical care situations effectively.

2. Staff Supervision & Administration

Supervise, guide, and support all nursing staff in the assigned unit/ward. Prepare staff duty rosters, allocate work, and manage shift schedules. Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback or training as needed. Ensure proper handover during shift changes and maintain updated reports. Identify staffing shortages and coordinate with HR or Nursing Superintendent.

3. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure maintenance of patient records, reports, and nursing documentation as per hospital policy. Ensure adherence to NABH/JCI/other regulatory standards. Maintain inventory of nursing supplies, equipment, and medicines. Report incidents, accidents, and near misses promptly.

4. Training & Development

Mentor and train new nursing staff and students. Organize or participate in in-service education programs. Keep the nursing team updated on latest procedures and healthcare protocols.

5. Communication & Coordination

Serve as the communication link between nursing staff, doctors, and management. Attend regular department meetings and share updates with the team. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., pharmacy, housekeeping, lab) to ensure smooth patient services.

Qualifications & Experience:

GNM / B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing preferred). Registered with the State Nursing Council. Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent patient care and clinical judgment. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in hospital information systems and documentation. Ability to work calmly under pressure and during emergencies.

Work Environment:

Hospital / Clinic / Healthcare facility setting. Rotational shifts, including night and weekend duties as required. Exposure to patients, biological materials, and high-stress situations.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
