- Staff Nurse (OT - General Surgery)

We are seeking a competent and dedicated

Operation Theatre Nurse

to support surgical procedures in the General Surgery department. The role involves pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care, ensuring adherence to sterile protocols, patient safety, and seamless support to the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare OT with required instruments, supplies, and equipment for general surgical procedures. Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations, maintaining sterile technique throughout. Monitor patient vitals and condition before, during, and after surgery. Ensure proper documentation of surgical procedures, instrument counts, and patient records. Maintain infection control practices and participate in sterilization processes. Support post-operative care and safe patient transfer to recovery units. Collaborate with the surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams to ensure efficient OT functioning. Participate in OT audits, quality improvement activities, and emergency on-call duties.

Skills and Competencies

Strong understanding of general surgical procedures and OT protocols. Skilled in handling surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, and patient monitoring. Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management abilities. Familiarity with NABH standards and hospital safety guidelines is preferred.
