Patient assessment and monitoring
Conducting initial patient assessments and continuously monitoring symptoms and vital signs.
Performing physical examinations and evaluating patient needs.
Recording patient history, symptoms, and vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
Treatment and medication administration
Administering prescribed medications, injections, and IV fluids.
Dressing wounds and providing post-surgical care.
Assisting with diagnostic procedures and other medical treatments.
Operating and maintaining medical equipment.
Care planning and coordination
Collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Coordinating care with the healthcare team to ensure a cohesive approach.
Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate, up-to-date medical records.
Patient education and support
Educating patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
Providing emotional and psychological support to patients.
Advising on disease prevention and health maintenance.
Safety and hygiene
Ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients.
Following infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infection.
Assisting with patient hygiene, such as bathing, and ensuring personal comfort.
Emergency response
Reacting promptly to medical emergencies.
Performing life-saving interventions like CPR when necessary.
