Staff Nurse - Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Patient Care

Provide hands-on nursing care including administering medications, dressing wounds, and supporting patients with daily activities. Experience in

Emergency

or

ICU

settings is highly valued.

2. Monitoring and Assessment

Conduct routine monitoring of vital signs. Assess patient conditions and promptly document any changes in their health status.

3. Patient and Family Education

Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment plans, medication regimens, and recovery processes.

4. Documentation and Record Keeping

Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including: Medication administration logs Patient assessments Progress notes and discharge summaries

5. Collaboration and Communication

Work collaboratively with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.

6. Equipment Operation

Safely operate and maintain medical devices and equipment relevant to patient care.

7. Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment

Ensure cleanliness and safety within the patient care environment. Properly maintain and stock equipment and medical supplies.

Qualifications

Valid

Registered Nurse (RN)

license (or national equivalent). Solid knowledge of the

nursing process

,

patient care principles

, and clinical best practices. Excellent

communication

,

interpersonal

, and

problem-solving

skills. Ability to work both

independently

and as part of a

multidisciplinary team

. Strong

physical stamina

and ability to manage the demands of a fast-paced healthcare setting.

BLS (Basic Life Support)

and/or

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

certification is desirable and an added benefit Familiarity with

healthcare regulations

infection control policies

, and

patient safety standards
