Position Summary:
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, supporting medical staff during examinations and treatments, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Responsibilities:
• Patient Care:
Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
Perform wound dressings, manage post-operative care, and assist with other treatment procedures.
• Patient Admissions and Transfers:
Receive patients from critical care units (e.g., S-ICU) to the ward, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition.
Position patients comfortably, connect IV fluids, and secure side rails for fall prevention.
• Monitoring and Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including vital signs, intake, and output.
Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information.
• Ward and Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation within the ward, including beds, linens, floors, and bedpans.
Follow daily fridge and oxygen checklists to ensure equipment is functioning and supplies are adequately stocked.
• Medical Assistance:
Support doctors and medical staff during examinations and treatments.
Prepare and organize necessary medical supplies, such as surgical supplies, bandages, and splints.
• Patient Comfort and Procedures:
Administer oral supplements and manage injections and cannulas as needed.
Insert cannulas and catheters when required.
Coordinate with ICU nurses for NG tube feeding, if applicable.
• Communication and Support:
Provide clear and compassionate information to patients and their families regarding procedures and care plans.
Offer emotional support and comfort to patients and families as needed.
• Shift Management:
Take charge of assigned shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed and patient care standards are met.
Perform an effective handover at the end of each shift to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
GNM or B.Sc(Nursing).
Valid nursing license.
Skill's:
Strong clinical skills and experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism.
Experience:
1- 2 years of experience in wards.
Attributes :
Highly responsible and vigilant.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and guide a team.
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in emergencies.
Physical fitness and managing assigned tasks.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
On-site role and interactions with hospital staff and visitors.
Availability to handle emergency situations at any time.
