Admission and discharge of patients.
Bed making and to keep the bedside neat and tidy.
To maintain the personal hygiene of the patients, including bathing, care of mouth, back, nails, hair etc.
To assist the patient in elimination, offering and removing the bed pans and urinals.
Assist in feeding the weak and debilitated patients.
Assessment of the patient and plan the plan of care accordingly.
Observing, recording and reporting of vital signs e.g. T.P.R. and blood pressure.
Administration of medicine and injections, nebulization to the patients.
Administration of intravenous injections, infusion and transfusion.
Carry out technical procedures, such as Naso-gastric intubation, gastric lavage, oxygen therapy.
Dressings and irrigations, Enema, Catheterization, hot and cold applications, suction etc.
Collecting, labeling and dispatch of specimens.
Preparation for and assistance in clinical tests and medical/ surgical procedures.
Pre-operative skin preparation for surgical patient.
Shifting patients to and from OT.
Maintaining intake and output chart.
Observation, recording and reporting of all procedures and tests.
Maintaining the billing record.
Escorting serious patients to and from the department/ wards.
Coordination with other departments.
Carry-out patient's teaching and demonstration according to the need.
Counseling the patients and relatives.
Care of the dying and dead.
Patient education in case of discharge.
Handing over and taking over charge of patients and ward inventory in each shift.
Maintenance of therapeutic environment in the ward.
Keeping the ward clean and tidy.
Maintaining the cleanliness of dressing trolleys, cupboards, apparatus, etc.
Care of clean and soiled linen.
Disinfection of linen, beds, and fumigation of rooms etc.
Preparation of rooms, trolleys and sets for procedures.
Indenting of surgical supplies
Maintaining interpersonal relationship with patients, relatives and health team members
Communicating with the doctors as per the patients need.
Orientation of new staff/ students
Demonstration and guidance to new nurses
Participation in staff education and staff meetings
Participation in professional activities
Demonstration and supervision of domestic staff
Report about the medico legal cases to the Doctor and Medical Director if any admitted in the ward
Any other duty that may be assigned by ward in charge / supervisor from time to time.
Reporting any untoward incidents to ward in-charge.
Any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.
OTHERS :
To attend telephone calls politely and strictly adhere to telephone manners.
To maintain the punctuality and dress code without fail.
Prior intimation should be given for leave.
Should not leave from duty until the reliever has come.
Maintain professional etiquette.
