The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being. The role includes assisting doctors, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining accurate nursing records while following hospital policies and ethical standards.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
Assess patients' physical and emotional needs.
Monitor vital signs and record patient condition regularly.
Administer medications and injections as prescribed by the doctor.
Provide wound care, IV therapy, catheterization, and other nursing procedures.
Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
Clinical Support
Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and rounds.
Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and surgical procedures.
Maintain and operate medical equipment safely.
Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate nursing notes and patient records.
Report any abnormal findings or emergencies to the doctor immediately.
Follow hospital protocols for incident reporting.
Patient & Family Education
Educate patients and attendants on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.
Ward Management
Ensure cleanliness and safety of the ward/ICU.
Check availability of medicines, consumables, and emergency equipment.
Follow duty rosters, shift handovers, and hospital discipline.
Compliance & Ethics
Adhere to hospital policies, NABH guidelines, and nursing ethics.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Participate in training programs and continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma (GNM) or B.Sc Nursing.
Valid Nursing Council registration.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations.
Compassionate, responsible, and team-oriented.

Fresher or experienced candidates may apply (experience preferred in hospital settings).
