Job Description

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with hospital standards, doctors' directions, and nursing protocols. Ensures patient comfort, safety, and recovery through continuous assessment and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:

Provide nursing care to assigned patients as per physician's orders. Monitor vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) regularly. Administer medications and injections as prescribed. Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, and emergency care. Maintain hygiene and comfort of patients.

2. Documentation & Reporting:

Record all nursing observations, treatments, and patient progress accurately. Maintain patients' files, reports, and consent forms. Report any changes in patient condition to the physician or supervisor immediately.

3. Ward / Unit Management:

Maintain cleanliness and infection control in the ward. Ensure availability of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment. Check and maintain crash cart and emergency equipment readiness.

4. Communication & Coordination:

Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and healthcare team. Educate patients and attendants about post-treatment care and hygiene.

5. Emergency Duties:

Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code calls. Provide first aid and resuscitation as needed.
