Life-Support Management:
Specialized care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodialysis, and advanced cardiac or respiratory support.
Specialized Treatments:
Administration of intravenous medications, complex fluid resuscitation, and blood products with high precision.
Post-Operative & Critical Care:
Managing recovery from high-risk surgeries (e.g., cardiac, neurological, transplant) and acute trauma or severe infection.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Coordinated efforts between pediatric intensivists, nurses (1:1 or 1:2 ratio), respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to tailor care plans.
Family Support & Communication:
Providing regular updates, education, and emotional support to families during stressful, life-threatening situations.
Specialized Transport:
Moving critically ill children from other hospitals or areas to the PICU.
