1. Job Summary



The

NICU Staff Nurse

provides specialized nursing care to

newborn infants

who are premature, critically ill, or require intensive observation. The role includes monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting doctors in neonatal procedures, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for newborns and their families.

2. Qualifications & Experience



Education:

GNM / B.Sc Nursing (Registered with State Nursing Council)

Experience:

1-3 years in NICU / Pediatric ICU preferred

Certification:

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) / BLS preferred

3. Key Roles & Responsibilities



Provide

comprehensive nursing care

to neonates requiring intensive or intermediate care. Monitor

vital signs

(heart rate, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation) and report abnormalities promptly. Assist in

resuscitation

and

emergency procedures

for newborns. Administer

IV fluids, medications, and nutrition

as per medical orders. Ensure

aseptic technique

and strict

infection control

in the NICU. Assist neonatologists and pediatricians during

procedures

(intubation, umbilical line insertion, etc.). Maintain and operate

NICU equipment

(incubators, warmers, ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors). Accurately

document

nursing care, medication records, and daily progress notes. Educate and support

parents

on newborn care, feeding, and hygiene. Participate in

handover reports

and coordinate with other healthcare professionals. Handle

emergencies

with composure and efficiency. Maintain

cleanliness, orderliness, and readiness

of the NICU at all times. Follow hospital

policies, safety, and confidentiality

guidelines.

As per hospital norms and experience level (e.g., ?20,000 - ?25,000 per month)*

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
