Job Summary:
The Staff Nurse in an IVF hospital is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing fertility treatments. The role involves patient preparation, assistance during procedures, medication administration, counseling support, and coordination with doctors and embryology teams while maintaining strict confidentiality and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for IVF, IUI, OPU, ET, and related fertility procedures.
Assist doctors during clinical and minor OT procedures.
Administer injections, IV fluids, and medications as per doctor's orders.
Monitor patient vitals before, during, and after procedures.
Maintain accurate nursing notes and patient records in HMS.
Provide emotional support and basic counseling to patients and families.
Educate patients on treatment protocols, medication usage, and follow-up care.
Ensure adherence to infection control, OT protocols, and safety standards.
Handle biomedical waste as per hospital and statutory guidelines.
Coordinate with embryology, pharmacy, front desk, and billing teams.
Maintain stock of medicines, consumables, and emergency drugs.
Assist in audits, NABH documentation, and quality initiatives.
Follow hospital policies, confidentiality norms, and ethical practices.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Sound knowledge of IVF and fertility procedures (preferred).
Strong clinical nursing skills and patient care orientation.
Good communication and counseling skills.
Ability to handle emotionally sensitive patients with empathy.
Basic computer skills (HMS, EMR, MS Office).
Ability to work in shifts and under pressure.
Educational Qualification:
GNM / B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing.
Valid Nursing Council Registration (State Nursing Council mandatory).
Experience:
1-3 years of clinical experience preferred.
Experience in IVF / OT / Gynecology / Maternity setup is an advantage.
Freshers with IVF training may also be considered.
Working Conditions:
Shift-based duty (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
Exposure to OT and clinical environments.
