Staff Nurse Responsibilities & Duties

Assess patients' health status and develop care plans to meet their individual needs Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians Monitor and record patients' vital signs, progress, and response to treatments Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families Assist with procedures and surgeries as needed Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation Stay current with advances in healthcare and nursing practices
Staff Nurse Qualifications & Skills

Specialty certification (e.g., oncology, critical care) Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems Advanced life support certification Ability to handle high-stress situations effectively Knowledge of best practices in patient care Current nursing license in the state of practice Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field 2+ years of experience in a clinical setting Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and computer applications
