Job Description

Patient Preparation and Assessment:



Initial Assessment:

Conduct preliminary health assessments, including taking and recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, etc.), and collecting patient medical history and symptom information.

Procedure Preparation:

Prepare patients for various diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, biopsies), which includes explaining the procedure, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring patients follow necessary pre-procedure instructions (e.g., fasting).

IV Access:

Perform venepuncture and cannulation to establish intravenous (IV) access for administering contrast media or other medications as required.

During Procedures:



Assisting Physicians:

Work closely with radiologists, cardiologists, and other specialists during procedures, which may include interventional or invasive diagnostic procedures.

Monitoring:

Continuously monitor the patient's condition and vital signs during the procedure, observing for any adverse reactions (e.g., allergies to contrast dye) or complications, and reporting changes promptly to the physician.

Medication Administration:

Administer medications, including IV fluids, sedatives, or pain management as prescribed by the physician, and monitor their effects.

Post-Procedure Care and Documentation:



Recovery Monitoring:

Oversee the patient's recovery in the post-procedure area, ensuring they are stable and comfortable before discharge or transfer to another unit.

Discharge Instructions:

Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, potential side effects, and signs/symptoms that require immediate medical attention.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, documenting all care provided, observations, test results, and any incidents.

Specimen Handling:

Collect, label, and ensure the timely and accurate dispatch of specimens (blood, urine, biopsies, etc.) to the laboratory for analysis.

Operational and Safety Management:



Equipment Management:

Operate and monitor medical equipment safely and effectively, ensuring all equipment is functional and the environment is sterile.

Safety Protocols:

Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including infection control policies and radiation safety standards, to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Coordination:

Act as a liaison between the diagnostic department and other hospital units or clinics to ensure coordinated and seamless patient care.

Emotional Support:

Provide psychological and emotional support to anxious or nervous patients and their families throughout the diagnostic process.

Pay: ?16,000.00 - ?17,000.00 per month
