JOB Description of Staff Nurse (Mysore)

The Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents, while coordinating with doctors, families, emergency services, and internal teams.

1. Clinical Care & Monitoring

Monitor residents' vital signs (BP, sugar, SPO?, temperature, pulse)

Provide basic nursing care: wound care, injections, nebulization, catheter care, dressing changes

Observe and report early signs of illness or deterioration

Maintain individual medical records accurately

2. Medication Management

Ensure safe administration of medicines as per doctor's prescription

Monitor medication adherence and side effects

Maintain medicine stock, expiry checks, and proper storage

Coordinate refills with pharmacy and family

3. Emergency Response

Provide first aid and immediate medical support during emergencies

Stabilize residents until ambulance / hospital transfer

Coordinate with on-call doctors, hospitals, and family members

Maintain emergency kits and equipment readiness

4. Doctor Coordination

Assist during doctor visits and tele consultations

Follow up on treatment plans, investigations, and reports

Ensure doctor's instructions are implemented and documented

5. Health Records & Documentation

Maintain daily nursing notes

Prepare incident reports, health updates, and discharge summaries

Ensure compliance with medical and legal documentation standards

6. Preventive & Wellness Care

Conduct routine health check-ups

Support vaccination drives and health camps

Educate residents on diet, hygiene, exercise, and lifestyle management

Monitor chronic conditions (diabetes, BP, asthma, cardiac issues)

7. Infection Control & Safety

Follow and enforce infection prevention protocols

Monitor sanitation, biomedical waste handling, and PPE usage

Educate staff and residents on health & safety practices

8. Family Communication

Provide timely health updates to families

Explain care plans and progress clearly and empathetically

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism

9. Coordination with Care & Support Staff

Guide caregivers on resident-specific care needs

Train staff in basic first aid and emergency response

Ensure care standards are followed consistently

10. Compliance & Ethics

Adhere to nursing ethics and professional standards

Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and consent

Follow organizational SOPs and regulatory guidelines

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
