The Staff Nurse - IVF is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing fertility treatments. This includes assisting in procedures, patient education, and supporting the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Provide personalized care to patients undergoing IVF treatment.
Monitor patients' vital signs and manage their care before, during, and after procedures.
Assist with the administration of medications as prescribed by physicians.
Clinical Assistance:
Assist the fertility specialist during IVF procedures, including egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and other related procedures.
Prepare and maintain sterile environments and ensure proper handling of specimens.
Patient Education and Support:
Educate patients and their families about IVF procedures, medications, and treatment plans.
Offer emotional support and counseling to patients throughout their treatment journey.
Coordination and Communication:
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, embryologists, and administrative staff.
Ensure clear and timely communication with patients regarding their treatment schedules and instructions.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication logs.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in IVF nursing care.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in IVF and fertility treatments through continuous education and training.
