Provide bedside care to critically ill patients.
Monitor vital signs: ECG, SpO?, BP, RR, temperature, ABG, etc.
Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, infusion pumps, and syringe pumps.
Administer IV, IM, SC medications and titrate critical care drugs.
Perform suctioning, Ryle's tube insertion/feeding, Foley catheter care.
Assist in intubation, CPR, defibrillation, and other emergency procedures.
Maintain fluid balance chart, intake-output charting, and medication records.
Implement infection control and aseptic techniques strictly.
2. Patient Assessment & Monitoring
Conduct hourly/periodic assessments of patient condition.
3. Emergency Care
Respond promptly during Code Blue and emergency calls.
Assist in crash cart management and emergency drug preparation.
Support doctors during life-saving procedures.
4. Equipment Handling
Operate and maintain ICU monitors, ventilators, pumps, and defibrillators.
Perform daily equipment checks and ensure proper functioning.
Maintain crash cart stock and check expiry dates regularly.
5. Documentation
Maintain NABH-compliant documentation for all patients.
Record nursing notes, assessments, procedures, and interventions.
Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
Report incident/near-miss events in timely manner.
6. Patient & Family Support
Provide counselling and updates to patient attendants as per policy.
Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and comfort.
Educate family regarding care plans and safety instructions.
7. Coordination & Teamwork
Work closely with doctors, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, and dieticians.
Participate in daily rounds and patient care planning.
Support and guide junior nursing staff.
Maintain good communication with the interdisciplinary team.
8. Qualifications & Skills Required
B.Sc. Nursing / GNM with valid registration.
1-5 years experience in ICU/CCU (corporate hospital preferred).
Strong clinical knowledge in critical care.
Good communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
Ability to handle stress and emergency situations.
9. Additional Requirements
Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
Adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.
Commitment to patient care and ethical nursing practice.
Identify and report deterioration immediately to doctors.
Observe neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory status continuously.
Document changes in patient condition accurately.
