Staff Nurse - Gynaecology Department

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care and Monitoring:

Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions during labor. Assist in the management of pain and administer prescribed medications. Care for patients undergoing treatment for gynaecological conditions, such as fibroids, PCOS, or infertility.

Assistance During Procedures:

Assist doctors during normal deliveries, C-sections, D&Cs, IUD insertions, and other procedures. Prepare equipment and instruments needed for surgeries and examinations. Ensure patients' physical and emotional comfort throughout the procedure.

Pre and Post-Operative Care:

Prepare patients for surgeries or deliveries, ensuring all investigations and pre-op checks are complete. Provide post-operative care by monitoring for signs of infection or complications and assisting with recovery.

Patient Education and Counseling:

Educate patients about reproductive health, prenatal and postnatal care, family planning, and breastfeeding. Provide emotional support to patients dealing with infertility or pregnancy loss.

Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, nursing care, medications administered, and clinical observations. Adhere to hospital policies and ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.

Emergency Care Management:

Identify and manage obstetric emergencies such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress. Initiate emergency protocols and assist during neonatal resuscitation if required.

Coordination and Teamwork:

Collaborate with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Education:

B.Sc. Nursing / GNM / ANM Strong knowledge of antenatal, labor, and postnatal care. Ability to handle obstetric emergencies calmly and efficiently. Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of gynaecological disorders and surgical procedures.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
