Continuously monitor vital signs, ECGs, hemodynamics (CVP, PA pressures), ventilator settings, chest drains, urine output, and perfusion status.
Medication Management:
Administer high-alert medications, including inotropes, vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, sedatives, and anticoagulants.
Emergency Response:
Act swiftly to manage complications like arrhythmias, cardiac tamponade, low cardiac output, and respiratory failure.
Procedural Assistance:
Assist with intubation, extubation, tracheotomy care, and management of invasive lines (arterial, central, pacing wires).
Equipment Management:
Operate and manage complex equipment like ventilators, telemetry monitors, and IABPs (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps).
Collaboration:
Work closely with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Patient/Family Education:
Educate patients and families on post-operative care, medications, and potential complications.
Documentation:
Maintain precise and detailed patient records of treatments, assessments, and clinical updates.
Core Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
Expertise in arrhythmia management and hemodynamic monitoring.
Proficiency in handling ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
Adherence to strict infection control protocols.
