Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical and surgical wards, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and NABH standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients under medical and surgical categories.
Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and maintain accurate patient records.
Assist in preoperative and postoperative care, including wound care, drains, and catheters.
Provide patient education regarding disease, treatment, medications, and post-discharge care.
Clinical Procedures & Support:
Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries in the ward.
Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
Ensure timely reporting of changes in patient condition to the concerned physician.
Administer injections, IV fluids, blood transfusions, and other prescribed therapies.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate patient charts, nursing notes, and medication records.
Ensure compliance with NABH, hospital policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and infection control activities.
Teamwork & Communication:
Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide emotional support to patients and families.
Train and guide junior nurses, trainees, and support staff in ward activities.
Other Responsibilities:
Maintain stock and supplies of ward equipment and medications.
Participate in emergency response and disaster management within the ward.
Attend departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuing nursing education programs.
