Role Summary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of occupational health, safety, and employee welfare for all personnel at the Mount Abu project site and associated corporate facilities. This role is critical in providing immediate medical intervention, managing workplace injuries, coordinating preventive healthcare, and promoting a culture of wellness and safety.
Key Responsibilities1. Clinical Care and Emergency Response
First Aid & Triage:
Provide immediate medical care and triage for all work-related injuries, illnesses, and general medical complaints (e.g., minor wounds, sprains, fevers, heat exhaustion).
Emergency Management:
Act as the first responder for medical emergencies on-site. Stabilize patients and coordinate the safe and swift transfer to local medical facilities in Mount Abu, maintaining clear communication with next-of-kin and management.
Injury Management:
Administer prescribed oral and injectable medications, dress wounds, and perform minor clinical procedures under the scope of nursing practice.
Health Monitoring:
Perform routine monitoring of vital signs, especially for employees working in high-risk or strenuous conditions.
2. Occupational Health and Safety
Workplace Hazard Assessment:
Collaborate with the SHE team to conduct regular
workplace health assessments
to identify ergonomic issues, potential chemical exposures, and high-risk activities.
Medical Surveillance:
Conduct pre-employment medical examinations, routine health screenings, and annual check-ups as per company and regulatory guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all health-related activities and documentation comply with relevant local (Rajasthan/Mount Abu) labor laws, factory acts, and occupational health standards.
Record Keeping:
Maintain meticulous and confidential medical records, injury reports, and documentation for all treatments and referrals (ensuring compliance with privacy standards).
3. Wellness and Health Promotion
Health Education:
Develop and conduct regular health awareness programs, workshops, and training sessions for employees on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, stress management, hydration, and disease prevention (e.g., mosquito-borne illnesses common to the region).
Immunization and Screening:
Coordinate and administer optional health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, blood sugar) and coordinate seasonal immunization drives (e.g., flu shots).
Counselling:
Provide basic health counselling and support, referring employees to external mental health or specialized medical professionals when necessary.
4. Inventory and Administration
Clinic Management:
Oversee the organization, cleanliness, and maintenance of the on-site clinic or First Aid room.
Supply Management:
Manage the inventory of medical supplies, first aid kits, emergency equipment (e.g., oxygen, stretchers), and pharmaceuticals, ensuring they are always fully stocked, non-expired, and compliant with safety regulations.
Reporting:
Prepare periodic reports on injury trends, common illnesses, and the effectiveness of wellness programs for senior management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institution.
Licensure:
Valid and current registration with the State Nursing Council (preferably Rajasthan or neighboring state, with eligibility to practice in Mount Abu).
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in
Occupational Health, Industrial Nursing, or Corporate Clinic settings.
Certifications:
Mandatory certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid Training.
Language:
Fluency in Hindi and English is essential. Knowledge of local dialects is an advantage.
