About This Role

Cohesity IT is looking for passionate, out-of-the-box thinkers who take pride in building highly secure, robust and scalable infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for you to work as a Staff Network Engineer in a multi-cloud, multi-data center hybrid infrastructure. You will work closely with our information security, production services, and DevOps team to strategically improve the operation SLA.

Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, detail oriented and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, has a track record of successfully managing the Hybrid Cloud, and possesses a strong background in Networking technologies. The desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and advance the capabilities of our highly reliable and available cloud services - especially in networking and service mesh
  • Own the services full cycle: development, test, deploy, monitor and scale
  • Conceive new insights into problems and take them to market through rapid prototyping, validation, iterative development, and continuous test and deployment
  • Leading the effort of designing, implementing, operating, and improving the networking fundamental systems in a hybrid cloud environment
  • Infrastructure as a code for on-premise and cloud.
  • Provide expert root cause and corrective action leadership to resolve all operational issues across infrastructure architectures, hardware platforms, and vendor performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and be an escalation point for service incidents
  • Perform regular assessments against industry best practices that ensure network scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Work with the InfoSec team to meet critical security compliance requirements for cloud networking.
  • Directly contribute ideas and project scope to explore nascent products and technologies to evolve the business.
  • Lead improvements in documentation, playbooks, and training for Network Operations Centers.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience as a network engineer.
  • 7 years of hands-on experience in monitoring, configuring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in AWS/Azure/GCP or other cloud-based solutions.
  • Scripting and IaC skillset(eg: terraform or cloudformation)
  • Expertise or Familiarity in one or more of the following areas Linux Networking, Routing, Software Defined Network (SDN), Virtual Networks, TCP/IP, Open vSwitch (OVS), Open virtual network (OVN), envoy, service mesh, DPDK, eBPF, IPv4, IPv6, IPVS, iptables
  • In-depth knowledge of protocols related to cloud networks and Data center environments.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
  • Proficient with development tools like git, Jenkins
  • Previous experience working with monitoring systems like Prometheus, Alert Manager, Grafana, Thanos
  • Working knowledge in Ethernet LAN switching protocols and standards, including VLANs, VLAN aggregation, EtherChannel, PVLANs, Spanning Tree & Rapid Spanning Tree, 802.1Q .
  • Ability to analyze network packet traces (PCAP).
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Willing to learn new technologies.
  • Industry certifications (AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NDR tools eg: corelight,darktrace or extrahop.
  • Knowledge of network and information security practices with specific regard to ZTNA quievlent) operation.
