This role will be responsible for leading the design, development, testing, implementation and support of new digital products and services to enable our transformation into a digitally enabled business. This includes working on projects across multiple areas such as HR, finance, supply chain, retail and payments to name but a few. The role holder will also play a key part in building out a team of up to 15 developers and other specialists over time.
Responsibilities:
Working within the technology function to deliver a step change in how we develop digital solutions
Leading the end-to-end lifecycle of a project including requirements gathering, solution design, build, test, implementation and handover to support teams.
Developing a network of stakeholders both within and outside of technology to understand needs and opportunities
Building effective relationships with third parties to deliver agreed objectives
Providing leadership to the team by creating a collaborative environment where creativity can flourish
Actively mentoring junior members of the team
Keeping abreast of industry trends and applying them to your work
Qualifications:
Experience in full life cycle development using modern programming languages (e.g. C#, Java)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership skills
Ability to create innovative technical solutions
Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON etc.)
Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
Knowledge of agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban)
Knowledge of configuration management and release tools (Git, TeamCity, Artifactory, Octane)
Knowledge of continuous deployment and release processes (Octane, Azure DevOps)
Good knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL
Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
Familiarity with system design patterns and architecture
Understanding of information security principles
Service operations and reliability engineering experience (Monitoring, Logs, ITSM, Cloud Platforms)
Travel Requirement
Up to 10% travel should be expected with this role
