GE Aerospace is seeking an AWS-focused Software Engineer to lead adoption of AWS-native services. This role will architect, build, and operate integrations and data platforms using services such as AWS Glue and AWS Lambda, and will develop and support AWS service-based products including CI/CD pipelines for Redshift analytics and a Redshift job orchestration tool. The engineer will harden and scale these solutions, ensure high availability and operational excellence, and help close a critical skills gap within the team by establishing best practices, knowledge transfer, and internal ownership. Ideal candidates have strong experience with AWS data services, Redshift, serverless integration patterns, CI/CD, and production operations in an enterprise environment.

Site Overview
Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is GE Aerospace's multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Pushing the boundaries of innovation every day, engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Role Overview
Architecture and standards: Define reference architectures for ingestion and medallion flows (S3/Redshift/Glue/Athena/Lambda) and set quality gates. Create IaC templates (CloudFormation/Terraform), CI/CD patterns, and policy guardrails.
Governance and delivery: Own the technical roadmap and backlog, run sprint planning, and enforce release gates. Define clear "Definition of Done" across tests, IaC, documentation, and observability.
Security and compliance: Implement least-privilege IAM, VPC segmentation, encryption, and logging/audit. Coordinate security reviews/approvals and maintain a risk register with mitigations.
Observability and reliability: Set SLOs/SLAs and error budgets, build CloudWatch dashboards/alerts, publish incident playbooks, and manage the on-call rotation.
Data quality and ontology: Define promotion rules for bronze/silver/gold data, and govern ontology standards including model versioning, change control, and mapping to Foundry objects.
