Job Description

Candidate should have in-depth knowledge on UNIX operating systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and high-level knowledge on computer hardware. In this role, responsibilities are troubleshoot server/system errors, install new system hardware, respond to user issues, and monitor the performance of the infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Installing and upgrading UNIX operating system on company servers /desktops.

Setup and maintain UNIX user accounts and access management systems. DNS/NIS/LDAP, basic networking. Implementation of network and computer system policies. Knowledge on networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs, and UDP

Detect and troubleshoot software and hardware issues.

Support semiconductor design engineers and EDA/CAD team to deliver design tools, licenses, storage, and compute servers

Install and manage EDA license servers, job queuing systems, and engineering simulation tools (Shell scripting, Perl, Python, NC, Cadence, Synopsis, CF Engine, source code repository, Atlassian tools, other EDA/CAD related tools)

System administration support includes performance monitoring/tuning, server management, storage management, (NFS, iSCSI, general management/tuning, etc),

Backup administration includes, monitor/configure schedule the policy. Disaster Recovery planning, setup, and monitoring.

Desktop/server administration includes, patch/OS install/upgrade. Resolving the issue related to HW/SW and asset management.

Meetings with internal customers on a regular basis to understand their needs, prioritize the tasks, and ensure that the projects are completed in a timely manner. Timely response to customer issues is required.

Drive standards for system administration processes/tools and writing

Qualifications

4-10 Year experience the filed UNIX Admin.
