Position:

Staff Engineer, Backend Engineering, Digital Business

Purpose:

This position is required to ship high performance which helps us deliver awesome experience to our end users.

Education:

Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent with a focus in software engineering.

Experience:

-10 years of software engineering and product delivery experience, with a strong background in algorithms.

Key Responsibilities:

Participating in code reviews, system design reviews, architecture discussions Being responsible for Scaling and Performance of the applications Setting up best practices to help the team achieve the above and constantly thinking about improving technology are your responsibilities. Driving the adoption of these best practices around coding, design, quality, performance in your team Experiment with new and relevant technologies and tools, and drive adoption while measuring yourself on the impact you can create Implementation of long-term technology vision for your team and system Be the technical mentor to your team, drive technology and tool choices and be responsible for them Creating architectures and designs for new solutions around existing and new problem spaces

Behavioural + Excellent organisational, technical, interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Strong analytical skills with ability to think strategically and critically.
+ Ability to work with all levels within the organisation, including field service team members'
+ management, cross-departmental teams and senior leadership.
+ Adept at developing strategic plans and working with large and distributed teams



Technical + Deep knowledge in architectural and design choices. Knowledge on one or more tech stacks, identify alternative tech choices and trade-offs
+ Identifying feasible alternatives and freeze on the optimal choice of data structures and advanced algorithms
+ Very Strong System design and OO skills with a nifty ability to craft clean interfaces and operate at the right levels of abstraction.
+ Solid coding skills with the ability to drive teams through massive refactoring exercises and improve coding standards across large codebases.
+ Good knowledge, understanding and experience of working with a large variety of multi-tier architectures.
+ Experience in designing and building large distributed systems with knowledge on distributed design patterns
+ Experience and exposure to a variety of large-scale persistent systems including large databases
+ Exposure to complete product development cycles - From inception to production to scaling up, supporting new requirements, re-architectures - the Architects should have seen it all.
+ Should have been part of scalable product development cycles with either large data handling or large transaction processing exposure.
