System Administrator
Description
The System Administrator is responsible for the management and support associated with the IT infrastructure, both hardware and cloud infrastructure, used by 411 Locals to host all critical services. The individual will be responsible to ensure the availability of critical infrastructure services, and to follow and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation based on the best practices of ITSM documented in frameworks such as ITIL.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the IT infrastructure such as: servers, networks, storage devices, etc.
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
Upgrade the infrastructure environment, monitoring and reviewing the new release of Linux and applications.
Troubleshoot and fix issues that compromise system performance or access to critical services.
Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
Monitor and manage the availability of the IT infrastructure.
Monitor performance and maintain infrastructure according to requirements.
Ensure that appropriate measures are proactively followed to avoid outages.
Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Experience
5+ years of relevant experience managing Linux servers. LPIC certification or similar is a plus.
5+ years of experience installing, managing, and troubleshooting hardware: servers, storage, and network devices.
5+ years of experience working in a LAMP environment.
1+ years of experience working with cloud environments like Amazon AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience with scripting and automation tools.
Experience with designing infrastructure architecture that can scale.
Experience working with with database engines like MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Nagios, Zabbix.
Experience with ITSM frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, ISO 20000.
