Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced

Senior Design Engineer

with expertise in woodworking and furniture manufacturing. The role involves leading the design and development of wood-based products, creating detailed 2D and 3D designs, and ensuring designs are production-ready. Proficiency in

AutoCAD

and

SolidWorks

is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design process for wood-based products (furniture, joinery, fixtures, etc.) from concept to production. Develop and prepare accurate

2D drawings (AutoCAD)

and

3D models (SolidWorks)

for manufacturing. Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. Optimize designs for material efficiency, manufacturability, and durability. Review and approve junior engineers' and draftsmen's work, providing guidance and technical support. Conduct design feasibility studies, stress/load analysis (where applicable), and prototyping. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company design guidelines. Maintain organized design documentation, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and technical specifications. Support continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field. Minimum

5-7 years of experience

in furniture/wood product design or related manufacturing industry. Advanced proficiency in

AutoCAD

(2D drafting) and

SolidWorks

(3D modeling, assemblies, renderings). Strong knowledge of woodworking materials (solid wood, MDF, veneers, laminates, etc.) and production processes. Excellent problem-solving, creativity, and technical drawing skills. Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and manufacturability.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
