Key Responsibilities:
1. CT Imaging:
o Operate the CT scanner and related equipment to capture high-quality images of patients as per the radiologist's instructions.
o Ensure proper positioning and preparation of patients for CT scans, maintaining patient comfort and cooperation.
o Perform various CT procedures, including brain, chest, abdomen, and musculoskeletal scans.
2. Patient Care and Communication:
o Explain the procedure to the patient in a clear and compassionate manner, ensuring they understand and are comfortable with the process.
o Ensure patients are well-informed regarding the CT scan process, including the use of contrast materials if necessary.
o Provide a supportive environment for patients, particularly those who may be anxious about the procedure.
3. Radiation Safety and Protocols:
o Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to both patients and staff.
o Follow the principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to ensure minimal radiation exposure.
o Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to contrast agents and respond appropriately.
4. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
o Operate and maintain CT scanners, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
