Summarized Purpose:
We are presenting an outstanding opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Sr Systems Developer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in performing the systems analysis, building, development, testing, and support of highly complex technical information system components.
Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
• Previous roles showcasing the proficiencies necessary to fulfill the job responsibilities (similar to 5+ years') or an equivalent blend of education, training, & experience

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Develop cost and resource estimates for systems development projects
• Provide recommendations and compose robust database architectures for enterprise applications
• Develop and code system components according to specifications
• Lead database development efforts including schema construction, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Prepare and approve system documentation including requirements, specifications, test plans, and user manuals
• Perform unit, system, and validation testing
• Coordinate with Operations staff for application deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams for product support and deployment
• Work with business partners to analyze and address support requests
• Guarantee all development tasks adhere to quality and compliance requirements
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and security protocols
• Troubleshoot complex database and application issues to ensure high availability
• Mentor junior developers and guide guidelines in systems and database development
• Stay current with new technologies and recommend improvements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize with attention to detail
• Strong logic, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
• Proficiency in web development and scripting languages like Python and Shell
• Capable in SQL and relational database schema
• Expertise in relational database platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with server environments (Windows, Linux/Unix), Apache, IIS
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards
• Experience with validated systems and clinical industry (preferred)
• Project management and leadership experience

Must Have Skills:

• Proficient in SQL and relational database advancement
• Experience with Oracle and SQL Server
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities
• Performance tuning and query optimization
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities

Good to Have Skills:

• Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Shell)

• Awareness of emerging database technologies

Working Hours:
India: 05:30 PM to 02:30 AM IST
Philippines: 08:00 PM to 05:00 AM PST
