Essential Duties and Responsibilities: AIX * 24*7*356 support model including weekend ON Call.

  • All shifts are on Rotation Basis.
  • Provide administration and support of AIX and Linux software, including monitoring and troubleshooting, supporting ACI internal development accounts as well all AOD Customer Accounts Servers. Be a part of global Unix support team AIX / Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of installing and setup new pSeries hardware, including connecting to HMC, SAN storage and Ethernet switch.
  • Knowledge of installing and configured VIO server via HMC on pSeries.
  • Knowledge of installing and configured AIX NIM server, resulting in streamlining the AIX installation process.
  • Knowledge of installing new releases and patches of system software as requested by both project managers and ACI security team. This resulted in customers not missing deadlines due to incompatible versions of software. Reduced the risk of not passing security audits.
  • Must ensure of all software security settings for new installations set correctly. Revised security settings on existing installations as required by newer versions of ITCS-104. This resulted in passing all security audits
  • Must have Knowledge for migration of LPARs from local SCSI to SAN dasd, resulting in enhanced server reliability due to RAID structure of SAN.
  • Should be able to recognise and fixed and verified problem resolution in a timely manner, by monitoring and troubleshooting of hardware related problems including contacting and working with ACI Customer Engineers
  • Enhance customer service by resolving problems while serving as escalation point contact for global Operations Team.
  • Must be work on 24*7 rotating Support model including weekly night shift and weekend ON Call shift on rotations basis.
  • Plan and execute AIX projects within approved timelines.
  • Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects.
  • Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures.
  • Develop data backups and retrieval techniques in case of failure, redundancy, etc.
  • Detect and troubleshoot system operational and functional issues.
  • Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Install and configure AIX operating systems and servers.
  • Support AIX OS to run various software applications.
  • Maintain and upgrade the AIX OS.
  • Install and test AIX OS patches.
  • Develop procedures for AIX security and management.
  • Update standard policies according to environment changes and audit results.
  • Develop performance improvement initiatives for AIX system environment.
  • Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
  • Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX systems software and related hardware.
  • Plan and execute AIX projects within approved timelines.
  • Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects.
  • Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures.
  • Develop data backups and retrieval techniques in case of failure, redundancy, etc.

  • Knowledge of Linux RHEL Administrations,
  • Knowledge of Openshift Admin
  • Knowledge of Hadoop Admin
