The Senior Store Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the entire stores and inventory management process, ensuring efficient material handling, stock accuracy, and timely issuance of components for production. The role requires strong leadership, coordination with multiple departments, and adherence to industry best practices for inventory control in a manufacturing setup.
Key Responsibilities:1. Inventory Management
Maintain accurate records of stock levels, incoming and outgoing materials.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and arrangement of raw materials, spare parts, and finished goods.
Implement FIFO/LIFO methods for stock management.
Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation with system records.
Reduce inventory discrepancies and pilferage through robust control measures.
2. Store Operations & Documentation
Oversee material inward and outward movements, ensuring correct documentation (GRN, MRN, Issue Slips, etc.).
Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of materials to prevent damage.
Maintain compliance with company policies and statutory regulations for stock handling.
Ensure timely dispatch and receipt of materials as per production and procurement schedules.
3. Coordination with Departments
Work closely with the purchase, production, and quality control teams to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure timely availability of raw materials and spare parts to prevent production delays.
Coordinate with logistics and vendors for efficient material movement.
4. Team Supervision & Training
Lead, train, and supervise storekeepers and store assistants.
Assign work responsibilities, monitor staff performance, and ensure efficiency in store operations.
Foster a culture of safety, accuracy, and accountability within the stores team.
5. Technology & Reporting
Maintain records in ERP/software and generate MIS reports (Stock Reports, Consumption Reports, etc.).
Identify areas for process improvements and automation in inventory management.
Ensure timely reporting of shortages, excess stock, and material issues to management.
Key Skills & Requirements:
Education:
Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
Experience:
5+ years in store/inventory management, preferably in a machine manufacturing company.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and inventory management software.
Knowledge:
Understanding of store operations, stock reconciliation, and material handling procedures.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing engineering/manufacturing stores.
Knowledge of ISO, 5S, and Lean Inventory Management practices.
Hands-on experience in procurement coordination and vendor management.
