To efficiently manage, monitor, and control the receipt, storage, issuance, and record-keeping of construction materials, tools, and equipment at the project site, ensuring proper inventory management and timely availability for site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Receipt & Verification
Receive materials, tools, and consumables as per purchase order/delivery challan.
Verify quality and quantity against supplier invoices and report discrepancies.
Ensure proper documentation of inward materials.
Storage & Preservation
Arrange and store materials systematically with labeling for easy identification.
Ensure safe handling and storage to avoid damage, deterioration, or wastage.
Maintain separate storage for consumables, cement, steel, paints, and safety items.
Material Issue & Record Keeping
Issue materials only against approved requisitions.
Maintain stock register (manual/ERP) with entries for all receipts and issues.
Track consumption of materials and reconcile daily/weekly.
Inventory Management
Conduct periodic stock verification (daily, weekly, monthly).
Report shortages, damages, or non-moving stock to management.
Maintain minimum stock levels for fast-moving materials.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain GRN, Issue Slips, and Stock Reports.
Coordinate with Purchase/Accounts for bill passing and vendor payments.
Ensure compliance with safety standards in handling and storing materials.
Coordination
Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and purchase team for timely material availability.
Assist in material planning based on project schedules.
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and consumables.
Familiarity with inventory management systems (Excel/ERP).
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work under pressure at project sites.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum
Diploma / Graduate
(any discipline, preference for Civil/Material Management).
3-6 years' experience as Store Keeper in
