: Senior Stamping Executive - Solar Design IndustryPosition Overview
The
Senior Stamping Executive
is responsible for managing, reviewing, and executing the stamping and approval process for solar engineering documents, including structural, electrical, and permit plan sets. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, local authority (AHJ) requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. The candidate will work closely with design engineers, project managers, and PE partners to deliver timely and accurate stamped packages for residential, commercial, or utility-scale solar projects.
Review solar PV design drawings (structural, electrical, layout) for accuracy and code compliance before forwarding for stamping.
Coordinate with
Professional Engineers (PEs)
licensed across various states/countries to obtain engineering stamps.
Ensure stamped plan sets meet AHJ, utility, and permit authority requirements.
Track stamping requests and maintain a database of completed and pending stamping jobs.
2. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Verify compliance with
NEC, NEC India, NBC, state-level building codes
, fire setback rules, and utility interconnection requirements.
Identify drawing inconsistencies, missing details, or code violations and communicate corrections to the design team.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of code changes and stamping requirements in different jurisdictions.
3. Coordination & Communication
Work closely with solar design, structural engineering, and project coordination teams to ensure fast turnaround.
Liaise with external PE firms, certification authorities, and approval bodies.
Handle escalations related to delays, revisions, or rejections by authorities.
4. Process Improvement
Create and improve stamping checklists to ensure high-quality submissions.
Implement workflow enhancements to reduce stamping lead time and errors.
Assist in training junior team members in document review and stamping procedures.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate logs of stamped plan sets, revisions, and engineer credentials.
Prepare periodic reports related to stamping productivity, error rates, and compliance issues.
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills
Strong understanding of
solar PV design
(residential/commercial).
Familiarity with
CAD plan sets, structural reports, SLDs, electrical layouts, rafter/truss details, and BOMs
.
Knowledge of building codes:
NEC, IEC, IS codes, fire safety rules
, etc.
Experience with permit documentation and engineering approval processes.
Software Tools
AutoCAD / Drafting tools
MS Office / Google Workspace
Plan review platforms (ePermit, AHJ portals, PE portals)
Project management tools (Asana, Monday, Salesforce - optional)

Strong problem-solving approach
Experience
3-7 years
in solar design, permit coordination, engineering stamping, or related documentation roles.
Experience with US, UK, or India solar permitting (depending on company domain) preferred.
Education
Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (preferred).
Additional certification in solar PV design is a plus.
