Position Title: Sr Staff Engineer Agentic
:
Roles & responsibilities:

• Lead full-stack development of AI-powered, merchant-facing products, from EDA to model development to agentic systems to frontend development (React).
• Architect and implement agent-based systems using tools like OpenAI Response API, LangX, AutoGPT, or custom frameworks.
• Design and deploy systems that incorporate LLMs, including fine-tuning (Reinforcement Learning), model evaluations (OpenAI Eval Framework), prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Apply advanced data science (custom deep learning models, Bayesian Causal Inference models, Bandit models, DPO-based reinforcement learning), optimization techniques (e.g., linear/integer programming, heuristics) to real-world use cases in pricing, discounting, and promotions.
• Conduct thorough exploratory data analysis (EDA) to inform data hypotheses and model development.
• Develop and maintain production-ready ML pipelines, APIs (FastAPI/Flask), and data services with scalable performance.
• Drive engineering best practices across model deployment, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud services.
• Mentor and coach junior AI Engineers, providing feedback, guidance, and support on modeling and coding best practices.
• Work autonomously, taking ownership of key initiatives while collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Design.
• Communicate clearly and effectivelyboth written and verbally in Englishto technical and executive audiences.

Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in data science and ML engineering.
• Demonstrated success shipping at least two customer-facing AI or data products at scale.
• Expertise in agent development, leveraging modern orchestration tools like LangX or equivalent.
• Deep hands-on experience with LLMs, including fine-tuning, RAG, and embedding-based retrieval.
• Strong command of optimization methods, especially in domains like pricing or inventory.
• Advanced skills in conventional ML algorithms, with strong intuition around their strengths, weaknesses, and trade-offs.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML/DS libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Spark).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and MLOps tools (MLflow, Airflow, etc.).
• Strong exploratory data analysis skills and the ability to extract and communicate actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proven ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
• Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams across multiple time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Industry experience in grocery retail, grocery, or merchandising, particularly in areas like personalization, demand forecasting, or promotion optimization.
• Familiarity with real-time data pipelines and distributed systems (Kafka, Spark, etc.).
• Experience with SaaS, consumer platforms, or marketplace technologies.
