This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Software Engineer - Backend in India.
We are seeking a passionate Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-impact product features in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement scalable, reliable solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers. This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex challenges in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development, while contributing to a product that secures access across modern SaaS and cloud environments. You will take ownership of features from ideation to deployment and influence the architecture and engineering practices of the platform.
Accountabilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs following Microservices Architecture principles.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to deliver robust, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Develop and optimize distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and ensure secure, compliant deployments.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize production services for performance and scalability.
• Contribute to containerization and orchestration efforts using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Maintain knowledge of database technologies (SQL/NoSQL), caching strategies, and scaling approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience, with expertise in APIs, Microservices Architecture, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Golang or Java.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and cloud-native services.
• Familiarity with IAM (Identity and Access Management) services and security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ownership mindset: able to take features from ideation to deployment with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of scaling systems, caching mechanisms, and database optimization.
• Previous experience in security-focused or SaaS applications.
