turning high-level ideas and designs into fully accessible and functional features

You'll be hands-on with modern, robust technology and our automated testing suite. To flourish in this role, a dedication to seamless teamwork, high-quality solutions, cross-team collaboration, and openness to new ideas is key.


Our Strategic Sourcing team operates as a

hybrid development team

, comprising both Ruby developers and teams specializing in

Workday's proprietary development language (XO)

. To truly support the full Source-to-Pay development flow, especially within our Chennai team, a

strong passion for learning new frameworks and development languages

is a key requirement. This willingness to cross-skill in Workday's proprietary language will be crucial for seamless collaboration and support with other Workday development teams.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 5

+ years

of software development experience. Minimum 4

+ years

of experience with Ruby on Rails.

Other Qualifications (Nice to Have):

Proficiency with

PostgreSQL

(or equivalent SQL database) and optimizing queries. Proposes pragmatic solutions to painful problems. Finds opportunities to teach others. Experience working within large codebases and/or web applications. Loves to understand and discuss the value our work delivers to customers. Kindly and consistently pushes the team forward, but knows how to pick their battles.
