DESCRIPTIONThe Challenge: GMT catalog is looking for Sr Software Development Engineers who are passionate and innovative to join our Catalog team. This team will be tackling some of our most complex and challenging Supply Chain and In-store projects and will deliver innovative technical solutions to advance the retail grocery industry.The Team: Our vision is to be a comprehensive source and build item and offer maintenance tools such that every item has all the information to make purchasing or supply chain decisions, every item that we have in stores is scannable and sell-able by our Under the Roof (UTR) and retail technology, and every item that we sell in our stores is listed online.The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As a Sr Software Development Engineer, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical challenges. We are an early-stage initiative, and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete systems and prototyping concepts, and working with technology leaders within the team and across the business.The Work: You will design, develop and deploy reliable distributed solutions that operate at Amazon scale. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, Linux, and AWS services. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and will have the opportunity to redefine an industry while working with different teams across Amazon and Whole Foods Market. - 8+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 8+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
