Our Amazon Business team is rapidly growing and we're looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer (Sr. SDE) to be the technical lead in charge of launching a new business venture globally.




Amazon Business (Amazon B2B) provides procurement services and business products to organizations and governments worldwide. Created in Q2 2022, the Amazon Business Services team offers solutions that reduce customer operating costs, streamline procurement processes, and allow customers to focus on their core operations. The team delivers essential support services that form the foundation of our enterprise customer partnerships.



This leader will create and execute large-scale solutions while maintaining attention to detail throughout development. They will set high standards for customer satisfaction across diverse market segments.



The role requires excellence in delivering results within dynamic environments. The selected candidate will develop innovative business models and lead a software development team in creating solutions for international business customers.

Key job responsibilities

Usage of design patterns, re-use and efficient coding best practices to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules. Partner with offshore development team(s) for successful software delivery. Design and develop end-to-end solutions that enhance software architecture and automate solutions. Leverage the latest tech to implement solutions Build reliable, high-performance Web Services, APIs, Micro-Services, Micro-Frontends, and SDKs that improve customers' experience Learn from others and help grow those in your team to achieve their best Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills


About the team

As a Sr. Software Dev Engineer on AB Services team, you will join a highly technical and entrepreneurial team building applications to change the B2B e-commerce segment. You will participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance. You will evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing technologies and tools, and you'll coach and mentor junior development engineers. We work in an entrepreneurial environment and deliver value incrementally and frequently. We are still in the early stages of development, so it is going to be Day1 everyday on the team!

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
